I want this club to be entirely non-profit, and acknowledge that I plan these with the intention of funding them out of pocket. I am fully prepared and very passionate :3
♡ MUEA-PA Movie Monday ♡ A Monday night where we watch topical movies like 'Shutter Island' or 'A Beautiful Mind'. I also think a social game night would be fun, particularly during mid-sem break when people want an excuse to be on campus and study. I could set up psychonauts, yume nikki, LSD dream emulator or baroque 1988 on a projector in a study space.
♡ Awareness BakeSale ♡ A core part of the club would be a pop-up stall on campus for national days of awareness - e.g. the first day of September for suicide prevention month - where we do a fundraiser for a relevant charity selling baked goods. It would be fun not only for members to run the stall but also for us to all bake together and educate ourselves beforehand so we can we can help spread information at the stall :3
♡ Diagnostic Dinner ♡ A powerpoint night where we present our own presentation on a case for a fictional character's diagnosis. Two rules: The diagnosis must be based on a vetted diagnostic tool like the DSM-V 2. It must come from a place of relatability. I hope this can set the foundations for open and fun discussions that provide unique exploration of representation and identity and all the other buzzwords the arts faculty loves.
All events will be free, and publicized on this website and via the discord. I take full responsibility for organisation, but if the club ever comes to fruition the dream would be that all member feel comfortable provideing input.
